Well guess who caught the dreaded bug ... me .... although I don't think it was off Ben. There are just so many things going round at the moment we've hand countless people off work with sore throats, colds, flu, sickness bugs. Let's hope we get a real cold spell to kill off some of these germs.
This last year just seems to have flown by or is it just that the years seem to go quicker now that I'm getting older. Some ex pupils came into school just before we broke up for the Christmas hols and boy did I feel old when they told me their ages. It just didn't seem 2 minutes since they left and their they were saying they were 24, one of them even 34 - where did the time go.
This might be the last blog of theyear so I just thought I'd take the time to say hope you all have a bless Christmas and New Year.
Merry Christmas

Sleepy Shepherd
I was looking forward to having this afternoon off school to go and see Ben in his very first school play 'The Sleepy Shepherd'. I got a phone call off Sam to say it was not to be - poor Ben had a tummy bug and had been up all night with sickness - most definitely Sleepy Shepherd, poor soul. Thankfully Tom seemed to be OK. Maybe next year.
The weekend is here and I will trundle off to my little craft unit for a weekend of relaxation. I do enjoy being there and I have some girls coming in to make a pendant so that will be nice. We break up from school next week and that will be nicer still.

Ben's 5th Birthday
I went over to see Ben on Wednesday as it was his 5th birthday. He's had his snow play party and had opened all of his presents on the morning before school but even though he'd had a lot he was still excited to open the ones I'd got for him. He's not really into Thomas the Tank Engine anymore which is a shame really, they grow up so fast. Someone had bought him a Thomas book and he said that his brother could have it which was really sweet of him.
We all went out for pizza and ofcourse the highlight of the night for a 5 year old was the ice-cream and the girl dimming the lights and bringing his cake out - everyone sang 'Happy Birthday' to him. Tom was enjoying it just as much but being nearly 2 he was more intent on trying to get out of his high chair which he almost managed but Marc strapped him in, much to Tom's disgust. It was becoming quite frosty as we headed for home but both boys were very tired as it had been a long day and even I was tired.
Found out today what the sex of my next grandchild is going to be - are these scans 100% well we'll just have to wait and see.

Busy weekend.
What a hectic weekend. I had a very busy day at the unit on Sunday, probably one of my busiest and then I went over to Marc and Sam's. It was Ben's birthday party - he's 5 on Wednesday but he had his snow play party on Sunday afternoon and I went over in the evening. I think both he and Tom were very tired as they were getting a bit niggly so I didn't stay too long - I was shattered too. I'm going over on Wednesday with his presents.

And baby makes three!!
Or will it be a girl. I can't quite believe the one thing I haven't mentioned is the wonderful news that I'm going to be a grandmother again. The baby is due around May time and Marc and Sam want to find out whether it's a girl or boy this time. It would be nice to have a girl after 2 boys but as long as both mum and baby are fine I wont mind either way. Maybe the title should have said and baby makes 4 as there'll be 4 new additions to the family soon. My niece Debbie and hubby Glen's second is due this month. Nephew Keith and his wife Michelle's baby is due in April, Marc and Sam's in May and my nephew Lee is going to be a dad around June time.

Only 3 weeks to go !!!
I've just got over a really sore throat, there just seems so many viruses going around at the moment. I've never had so many colds as I have this year, and this last bout had me worried at it just came out of nowhere, one minute I was fine next I just felt rough. I had a couple of days off work which helped as it's not nice having to work when you feel ill. Hopefully I wont have any more for a good while.
Went out with Marc, Sam and the boys for something to eat on Tuesday, it was better than cooking as I'd had a really busy day at school and just didn't feel like going home to cook.
Well only 3 weeks to Christmas day but only 2 weeks until we break up from school for the holidays - am I ready - I am so not ready, although I've done better this year than last. I'm not the most organised when it comes to Christmas but I do get there eventually. It's been trying hard to snow for the last few days but we seem to have missed it although mam said it had been snowing in the north east. I'm sure we'll get some before the year it out. Just in case I don't manage to blog before Christmas have a blessed and wonderful time.

Christmas has started ...
What a lovely night - I picked Ben and Tom up after I had finished work (Ben was at his after school club and Tom with the childminder). We were going out to Ben's Christmas Fair at school. Tea was a hurried affair but 6 o'clock saw us walking to the Centre where it was being held. Ben talked non stop all the way there (I found a £20.00 note in an envelope, at the end of someone's drive - it wasn't theirs so they took my number incase someone asked about it). The place was packed when we got there and you could hardly move. Ben had been looking forward to it all day. I think he'd have preferred to have gone with mum and dad but as they were both working I'd said I would take them and Sam's dad came along too. The place was buzzing with activity, cars everywhere, so I'm really glad we walked. Tom was quite happy being pushed round in his buggy. Ofcourse we had to buy some sweets (what's a Christmas Fair without sweets) and Ben bought a baton for himself and a little dog for Tom. Sam's dad got tickets for them to see Santa. Tom just stood and stared but Ben said what he needed to say and we eventually made our way to the back of the hall. The fog was coming down as we made our way home but we had a good time.

Nothing much really
It's been a very wet day today nothing much happening really but at least the rain stayed away for the Christmas lights being switched on in town - Grandson number 1 wanted to go and see the event with his mum so I stayed home and looked after grandson number 2 who was very tired. Just as well really as I still feel a bit yeuk, feels like I've swallowed a golf ball so I'm gonna try and get docs appointment tomorrow (no jokes about hole in one please :o) ).
I don't think I've got a lot of news today but hopefully as I get into this blogging I'll have more interesting things to talk about for now though it's off to the land of nod.

Second time around
I started this blog earlier and had started to tell you that I hadn't seen my beautiful grandsons this week as I haven't been well, I've got yet another cold and had two days off work (I then tried to upload the photo and it all went wrong and I lost it but hey second time around it worked). I dosed myself with cold remedies yesterday as I had two girls on a course at my little craft unit - we did art clay silver (first one I've taught) and it went really well. I took photos on my mobile but I've still not worked out how I get them straight onto the computer so it will have to wait until I transfer them onto a cd. Anyway the course went well and both girls said they'd enjoyed it which was the main thing.
Back to my beautiful grandsons - I took this photo on my mobile after we'd had a lovely day out. We went to a local farm and saw the animals then took a train ride into Birmingham. Unfortunately the heavens opened, we got soaked, giggled a lot as we ran through the rain, had a Happy Meal and then got the train back home. We'd bought a couple of little cars and they played happily on the floor, pushing them back and forward to eachother while I made tea.

Poorly me
I can never think of titles for my blogs but here I am today feeling rather yeuk. I was off work for a couple of days this week, sore throat etc but I felt a bit better yesterday, dosed myself up with lemon drinks and paracetamol and carried on as I had two girls booked in on an art clay silver course (my first one). It went well and we made some lovely pieces. Took pics on my phone but as I'm not very technical I've still not worked out how I download straight onto the computer so I need to transfer them to a disk first and then maybe I'll be able to show you what we did. We all enjoyed it which was the main thing.
I'm back to school tomorrow but it's an inset day so no children. I should have been going off to do a computing course but I've got a finance support office coming in and that's more important at the moment as I'm still getting to grips with the new system we have.
I've not seen my beautiful grandsons this week and it's been awful as I usually see them a couple of times a week but with not being so well I didn't want to pass anything on to them. I'm babysitting a couple of times next week so that will be nice.

I Then Shall Live
I'd like to share a song with you that I heard the other day, it so touched my heart, especially the last part that I've gone round singing it all day. The words are just so beautiful and it really blessed me, oh to sing this sort of hymn in church instead of all the stuff that sounds so like the music in the charts. Give me something that uplifts and hymns with words that will change a sinners heart and life. What a wonderful Saviour. Hope you are blessed as you listen to it too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxyBMQJuTuc&feature=related

My First Blog
Tuesday 11th November 2008
Well this is my first blog - I woke this morning at about 4.30 but just couldn't get back to sleep so thought I check out my emails and take a look at my sister Denise's blog. I decided I'd have a go at doing my own so here I am - it's now 6.30 [yes it took me 2 hours to work out how to do this blogging - I'm only a secretary not a technician you know :o)] I'm feeling very tired now but have to go get ready for work. I'm sure I'll be back and maybe I'll be able to find something of interest to write about. Have a nice day.
